AMCOL INTERNATIONAL
CORPORATION was originally incorporated in
South Dakota in 1924 as the Bentonite Mining & Manufacturing Company. Its
name was changed to American Colloid Company in 1927, and in 1959, the Company
was reincorporated in Delaware. In 1995, its name was changed to AMCOL
International Corporation. 1. ABSORBENT POLYMERS. The absorbent polymers segment
produces and distributes super-absorbent polymers primarily for use in consumer
markets. The minerals segment mines,
processes and distributes clays and products with similar applications to
various industrial and consumer markets. The environmental segment
processes and distributes clays and products with similar applications for use
as a moisture barrier in commercial construction, landfill liners and in a
variety of other industrial and commercial applications. |
