AMERICAN STATES WATER COMPANY was incorporated in 1998 and is a holding company for Southern California Water Company (SCW) and American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS).

Southern California Water Company is a public utility company engaged principally in the purchase, production, distribution and sale of water. SCW also distributes electricity in one customer service area. SCW is regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission and was incorporated on December 31, 1929 under the laws of the State of California.

Southern California Water Company is organized into three regions and one electric customer service area operating within 75 communities in 10 counties in the State of California and provides water service in 21 customer service areas.

Southern California Water Company focuses on customers by providing water and electric services at affordable rates approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Providing over one-half of the water it sells from its own wells, SCW complies with state environmental regulations and the federal Safe Drinking Water Act.

American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS) engages in non-regulated business activities through long-term leases or operation and maintenance contracts with municipality owned water and wastewater systems. ASUS meets the needs and challenges facing municipalities throughout the country, by offering cost effective alternatives to higher water rates and diminishing water supplies.
